I agree with Joerg that this is out of scope here.
Also Commons has lots of components, if Gradle is added for Email, then people
may expect it for most (all) the other components.
That becomes a maintenance nightmare.
If you wish to provide a Gradle build system for Email (and perhaps some
others), then by all means add details of this to the Commons Wiki [1]
