See e.g. what is being done in ["Commons Numbers"|https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=commons-numbers.git] (also split of "Commons Math"). Reviewing the API would also be nice. If not done already, please subscribe to the "dev" ML; it will be necessary to coordinate who does what.
