I read up on this today.

For this C and C++ have no standard, they only have standards for == and != .

In Matlab the > operator compares the real components But, it could just as 
easily be magnitudes. There is no mathematical standard.

So it might as well be left up to the users, who can create an anonymous 
Comparator to suit themselves.
