group scm updates make builds look like they are not queued

when I add continuum to be built by force, the group is first updated, as
indicated on the main page.However, this is not shown anywhere on the queues
page, which is confusing. In addition, the projects do not appear as queued by
their icon, or in the main queue page until the update completes.
Hitting the build button appears to do nothing as they are not indicated as
queued while the update is occurring.
