Brett Porter commented on CONTINUUM-2505:
-----------------------------------------

sorry for the delayed response. The exceptions you are seeing are side-effects
of earlier errors, so I see two distinct ones:

- derby fails to start (no exception is there to indicate the problem however).
Was the installation writable? Anything in derby.log?
- the mysql one fails with "xmlns can not be set". This is a known problem with
IBM JDK 6 - is that what you were using?

> Continuum 1.3.6 GA not starting up cleanly with embedded derby or Mysql
> backend.

> Greetings continuum devs:
> I'm getting an issue trying to startup the 1.3.6 ga version of continuum in
> the environment listed here.
> I'm attaching the log files for both the embedded derby attempt and also the
> mysql backend attempt. I'm also attaching the continuum.xml context and
> continuum configuration file (sensitive information removed) and mysql db
> export we are using in our setup in hopes that they will provide more clues.
> There seems to be an issue with some redback library down in the maven part
> of the startup but I cannot tell for sure what's causing the break.
> We do have a workaround in that continuum 1.2.3 is working with the mysql
> backend but there are some issues with projects falling out of the queue that
> we would like to remedy with the newer version.
> Let me know if you need more information.
> Thanks for your help
