I pulled your topic branch and ran the automated splashscreen tests fine on
iPhone 4,1 iOS 6.0 and iPad 2,1 iOS 5.1.
You use the same number "2" for testing both the show() and hide() methods, I'd
suggest to change one of those to be "3" so all the ids are unique.
