Agree with you here, but it from what I can tell that might be hard to do with
Jekyll. We set the basepath to '', and yet all links with basepath in it start
with a /. My thinking was just to be consistent with the other links. The
default basepath is '/', which causes links to look like //path, which is
broken, so I think there's something I'm missing about this.
