Ian Clelland commented on CB-3754:
----------------------------------
Yes, the label that appears in the comment was originally added in order for us
to be able to respond effectively to bug reports, by being able to track down
the exact version of cordova-js in use by a particular developer.
It's a git-specific format that looks back through history to find the most
recently tagged commit, which does not necessarily represent the actual Cordova
release (especially on master).
I'm intending on fixing this though proper tagging, but we should not be
relying on it to indicate an actual Cordova release name.
> Cordova-JS build label is incorrect on master

> Not a huge issue as it seems to work fine for branches, but on master,
> running jake in the cordova-js repo produces javascript files for all of the
> platforms. The cordova-js-build-label for those javascript files is
> 2.7.0rc1-84-g62c5786. On the 2.8.x branch of cordova-js, the build label is
> 2.8.0rc1-0-g22bc4d8
