For what it's worth, it looks like Cordova iOS 8 fixes this - from its [beta release blog post](https://cordova.apache.org/announcements/2024/10/21/cordova-ios-8.1.1-beta.1.html): > Fixes for numerous bug reports and pain points. > Range requests are now supported for large media files when using a custom protocol.
