Ian Molesworth commented on CB-5533:
------------------------------------

I'm the bloke who made the initial post about a week ago and although I have
managed to get my code running it is only through hacking existing projects and
not by getting going from square 1 so there is a massive gap in my knowledge
base. Not good and does not bode well for when I want to kick off the next
project, clean and from scratch.

There are 3 reference sites that have 'phonegap install' instructions.
phonegap, Apache cordova and Adobe.
Everything I have seen so far refers to the phonegap.jar file. This simply does
not exist in the download. Given that one is about 20 minutes in to an install
when you come across this problem it is very frustrating.

> improve docs for Windows workstations when building for Android

> Key: CB-5533

> Project: Apache Cordova
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Docs
> Affects Versions: Master

> Priority: Minor

> The fact that this person wrote a blog on how to get an app created on
> Android using a Windows workstation and that it got so many "thanks" comments
> indicates that cordova-docs may need some improvements.
> My suspicion is that the docs are a bit thin in places (especially for
> newbies), and the committers are mostly Mac users. I'm guessing that Android
> with a Windows workstation is probably the most common consumer scenario.
> So the task here is to do an end-to-end walkthrough as a newbie of creating
> an Android app on a Windows workstation that originally has no pre-reqs
> installed, and make sure that all the needed tasks and explanations are in
> cordova-docs.
> Bonus points for increasing the scope to include:
> - iOS on a clean Mac
> - BB10 on Windows workstation
> - WP8 on Windows workstation
