After installing the splashscreen plugin on WP8, it's not possible to show or
hide the splashscreen programatically(?)
There's also no support for either "AutoHideSplashScreen" (as on iOS) or
"SplashScreenDelay" (as on Android) to prevent the splashscreen from being
hidden straight away.
