Joe Bowser resolved CB-8585.
----------------------------
Resolution: Cannot Reproduce
I don't have the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but I did test this on the Samsung
Galaxy S4 (Samsung Galaxy S5 didn't seem to have Emoji on the keyboard), and I
couldn't reproduce this. When the device is in another language that would use
multi-byte characters like for example, Korean or Japanese, it doesn't do this
either.
> Soft Keyboard Delete key not working with unicode characters (samsung
> keyboard)

> Project: Apache Cordova
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Android
> Affects Versions: 3.5.0
> Environment: Android Kitkat - 4.4.4 (Samsung note 4 (SM-N910F))

> Delete key on soft keyboard works fine for single byte characters - but
> multibyte simply does nothing.. cursor stays in same position.
> To recreate...
> Use the cordova hello world sample.
> Add a <input type="text" /> or text area onto the body of the app.
> Build and run the app on device.
> Click on the text area/input... select a smiley from the samsung keyboard..
> now try deleting it using the soft keyboard delete key.. it simply does
> nothing..
> Have tested this other ways by inserting unicode text via javascript and cant
> delete..
> Have tried the google keyboard from google play - this correctly deletes this
> the unicode characters.
> Have tested the samsung keyboard in chrome on the same note 4 device.. and
> entering unicode in text fields on websites and deleting characters works ok..
> Seems to be a problem when running within the webview?
