Rob commented on CB-6068:
-------------------------
I was just wandering if this on the radar. I see the newest released version
has several things not covered in the current contacts API:
https://www.w3.org/TR/contacts-manager-api/
Now that it is released, will this get picked up? It was just a draft when
this issue was written. There are some things that have been implemented in
the API before but are now commented out (like contact lastUpdated) because
they were dropped from the w3 spec in the past. Now that they are added to the
spec again, I hope they are put back into the API.
Thanks for all the good work! -Rob
> Alignment with W3C Contacts Manager API
> ---------------------------------------
>
> Key: CB-6068
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-6068
> Project: Apache Cordova
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Plugin Contacts
> Reporter: Dominique Hazael-Massieux
>
> Work on the W3C Contacts API (from which the current cordova plugin was
> inspired) has continued and the spec and the cordova API are thus no longer
> aligned. The latest W3C spec is at
> http://www.w3.org/2012/sysapps/contacts-manager-api/
> Although that spec is likely to continue evolving, it would be good to look
> at the differences between the cordovo API and the W3C spec to see if they
> can start getting aligned, or to give feedback to the W3C group where it
> couldn't be aligned.
