We discussed this and working on a feature which would make version pinning for
plugins irrelevant and we'll remove that feature. For the meantime, we could
log a message when we add a plugin that is the pinned version and not the
latest released - but it's not a high priority as we plan to get another
feature which removes the requirement for pinning.
