I have the same behaviour on my app.
What I can see through debugging is:
1) The non-native side has added 3 commands to the commandQueue
2) The pokeNative() method is called
3) The corresponding native events are not triggered, which are supposed to
process the commandQueue
4) If I pause/resume the app, this triggers the native side to process the
commandQueue
