Couple of things to try:
* does Xcode manage to launch a simulator if you're not using Cordova? You
should be able to try this by creating a new project from one of the starting
templates in Xcode and then run it in the sim. (No code changes are required.)
* What plugins do you have in your config.xml? If you have any, rip them all
out and see if the app starts in the sim. Add plugins back until the startup
sequence fails.
* Are you using the splash screen plugin? If so, make sure your code is hiding
the splash screen or you have config.xml set to automatically hide the splash
screen, otherwise it'll be up until the end of time.
