Hi,
As the developers may select different image resource for iphone and ipad
devices, so instead of using "universal" resource type, they may specify
"ipad" or "iphone" as the resource type. such as ""2x~ipad~com.png". Note for
ipad, there could only be "regular~regular" and "compact~regular" used for app
launch image. So there is no need to have "regular~compact" resource for launch
image.
In addition, I assume there will not be a separate launchscreen plugin only for
handling this logic for ipad pro device, and the new logic will be added into
the existing splashscreen plugin. Is that correct?
