Fixed in 2.2.1-dev, but it also requires cordova-ios 4.3.0.
If you can't update to cordova-ios 4.3.0, as a workaround you can use this
plugin that adds a category to the MainViewController so it sends a
CDVViewWillAppearNotification notification needed by the
cordova-plugin-statusbar to fix the issue.
