Thanks for the feedback. Turned out that the installation was actually
incorrect.
There was a mismatch between the JDK (latest version) and an older JRE.
Installing the latest JRE (matching the JDK) resolved the issue.
I did not anticipate that behaviour as I assumed a JDK installation would be
consistent.
