Perhaps a bit of research / PoC on an API comparison is in order.
Retrieving the language/locale seems to be the main sticking point:
https://marcoscaceres.github.io/jsi18n/ - and that is provided by the
{{getLocaleName}} method of the current Cordova Globalization API.
Other than that, a lot of the methods provided in the globalization API today
are moving to two spots:
- the respective primitive's prototypes, i.e.
{{Number.prototype.toLocaleString}}
- a new top-level {{Intl}} object
