I realise that this issue has been inactive for 6 months, but the change in
defaults also bit me when I had to update the Android platform of an existing
project due to CB-12554.
I'd like to implement a compatibility preference for adding an additional 0 at
the end of `versionCode` for projects that do not build multiple APKs. Having
this option would be consistent with the way other core Cordova projects handle
changes in defaults
(https://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/7.x/reference/cordova-plugin-file/index.html#android-persistent-storage-location)
and probably a lot more stable and easy to maintain than doing it externally,
e.g. from a plugin.
