is it an iOS 11 thing? I have the same behavior on iOS 10.
Have you updated your Cordova version recently?
EDIT. sorry, on iOS 10 there was a space, but it was very small.
This is an iOS 11 bug (or feature).
For now a workaround is to replace spaces with
