Sarmad Eternal commented on CB-12958:
-------------------------------------

This issue happens in many Samsung low/medium devices as well and it's so
annoying! any idea when could this get fixed?
the "ONLY" way to get an image with the right orientation is to allow edit
after capture but that option forces the user into the edit screen which is not
ideal in many cases.

Can we get a way to bypass that as a quick fix for devices with unexpected
camera results?

> We in our Ionic2 app we use the cordova-camera plugin for our users to take
> pictures and upload them to our server. It turned out that images from
> Samsung devices did not contain the correct exif orientation for portrait
> pictures.
> After some tests we noticed that when the user uses the Samsung camera app on
> their device there was no problem. However when they make a picture via the
> cordova camera plugin the orientation isn't correct. It looks like the
> cordova-camera-plugin doesn't write the correct exif for orientation in the
> file.
