Hi. There are no plans to support the POSIX file API at the moment. Crail does
not support POSIX semantics because in Crail's primary usage scenarios they are
not needed and would result in a more complex system and eventually have
performance implications. That said, one could build a POSIX API ontop of our
append only filesystem semantics similar to the Alluxio/HDFS POSIX extensions
but it is fairly complex.
