I've spent some time to resolve the issue I was having.
In my case it was caused by a CAS filter thats used for single sign out..
org.jasig.cas.client.session.SingleSignOutFilter
The filter mapping was set to /* I reduced this so that it does not pick up the
webservice urls
Everything is working fine again in my case...
