I'm going to resolve this issue. CXF now will log a warning of:
WARNING: Could not find endpoint/port for
{http://ws.byu.edu/namespaces/echo/v1}EchoPortType in wsdl. Using
{http://ws.byu.edu/namespaces/echo/v1}EchoPort
letting you know that something funky is happening.
