Benson Margulies commented on CXF-4719:
---------------------------------------
My concern here is a bottomless pit of startup slowness as we allow Spring to
go on a grand tour hunting sn@ils all over the classpath. Recent experience
with Tomcat's implementation of the idiotic servlet 3 @nnotation scanning
requirements are a case in point. It took forever *and* ran out of memory in
the first version.
If someone wants to prototype this, fine, but I'd advise against a commit
without some pretty comprehensive benchmarks of startup.

> CXF is the only thing I'm using that still needs a spring configuration XML.
> All other components are configurable via annotations.
