Definitely agree with you. JAX-RS 2.0 claims to support JSR-339 so it seems
like Hibernate Validator is the right choice.
Also, no doubts that validation layer should be shielded off from particular
implementation. From my experience working with Bean Validation, JSRs are quire
well designed in order to provide interfaces and minimize the actual wiring of
implementation to couple of places.
