Sergey Beryozkin commented on CXF-5528:
---------------------------------------

Hi Heath

I wonder if we are talking about the auto-discovery here. So you list an
interface and the runtime finds a resource implementing it, presumably with an
interface package being the parent package ?
I'm thinking, do we have to go one extra length in simplifying the
configuration, now that we have a patch which will let users add a basePackages
property to jaxrs:endpoint, list one or more packages there, and get all
resources in those selected packages picked up ?

Cheers, Sergey

> When defining serviceBeans in the blueprint xml file, we first have to define
> the bean then reference that bean from the serviceBean definition. It would
> be nice to have a short cut that allowed us to just define the class name in
> the rsServer xml. Something like
> <jaxrs:server id="karafStringService" address="/karaf">
> <jaxrs:resourceClasses>
> <class name="com.example.test.cxf.StringRestServiceImpl"/>
> </jaxrs:resourceClasses>
> </jaxrs:server>
> I will be submitting a patch shortly with an associated test. I look forward
> to feedback.
