As far as I understand, your idea is to deal with the servlet inside the actual
extension, right ? If yes then it can't be better than having a simple
dedicated servlet for the reasons I specified earlier. May be I misunderstand.
If I do then I'd say CXFCdiservlet is a better name to CXFNonSpringServlet
anyway. It can also support the servlet parameters affecting the CDI process,
if needed in the future.
I do not see what exactly CXFCdiServlet reinvents, it interacts with CDI Bean
manager...
Can you clarify please what exactly you have in mind, without writing a
complete demo ?
