Daniel Kulp commented on CXF-5672:
----------------------------------
Updating to Jetty 9 requires dropping support for Java 6. The discussion
around that said 3.0 will still support Java 6, but mark as the last version to
support Java 6 and 3.1 will be Java 7 only.
Plus, Jetty 9 is quite different (API wise) from Jetty 7/8. Not sure if we'll
be able to maintain support for Jetty 7/8 if we do Jetty 9. Something that
will require some extra investigation. With the Karaf builds on Jetty 7 (2.x)
and 8 (3.x), we'd still need to support those.

> We embed CXF and we also embed Jetty which we pick up through CXF, for which
> I need a fix that was put in Jetty 9.1.1:
> Can CXF update Jetty to at least 9.1.1? The current version is 9.1.13 or
> 9.1.14 depending on where you look.
> I imagine this could be too big a change for 2.7.x but what about for 3.0?
