CXF should provide an easy way to configure the basic authentication for a
JAXRS client programmatically, e.g.:

Client client = ClientBuilder.newClient().register(new Authenticator() {
@Override
protected PasswordAuthentication getPasswordAuthentication() {
return new PasswordAuthentication("myuser",
"mypassword".toCharArray());
}
});
