The documentation needs a section that documents the JDBC driver but that is
not cluttered with specifics of how to use it with a specific tool (i.e.,
SQuirreL). (The SQuirreL-specific stuff in the current "Using JDBC" section
should be moved; see DRILL-3144.)
That new section should include the bits of generic information already in the
current mostly-SQuirreL "Using JDBC" section (e.g., getting the JDBC-all Jar
file, the name of the driver class, etc.) plus the rest of what users need to
know, including:
- the form of the driver's JDBC URLs (including required and allowed parameters
and their semantics), and
- a pointer to the Javadoc-generated documentation for the JDBC driver (once
that is available).
