The question wasn't seriously hypothesizing that maybe it was intentional; it 
was to allow for the possibly that the actual path wasn't what I thought it was.

Yes, I know; I've been normally been submitting doc. feedback otherwise (piles 
of commented-on pages to the doc. team).
