Interesting that we found the case when an old version of drill can create 
parquet file with correct date values. 
In the above test case an old drill reads data with shift (select date_col from 
dfs.`hive.parquet`) and after that writes data with shift (create table xxx as 
select...). In the result the file with correct date values. It contradicts to 
the current approach of detection of corrupt date values.
For the case with drill 1.2, files created with this version of drill have 
correct date values too, but haven't drill version. And detection of corrupt 
date values with drill-1.9.0 performed by looking at the min/max values in the 
metadata.
So I think the approach for reading parquet files with corrupt date values 
should be changed.
