@vvysotskyi, thanks for the review. I'd almost forgotten about this one.
This was supposed to have been the first of several PRs to enhance Drill's
plug-in system to be closer to typical systems such as those found in Presto,
rather than the someone ad hoc system which Drill evolved. However, I no longer
have time to finish that project. So, my thought is just to close this PR
unless someone else sees value in picking up the project.
