Resolution: Won't Fix
We will not be able to add a permanent solution to this since the events are
being handled in the flash player native code. We are unable to change the
flash player native code (tickets with adobe). The work around above will work
on any inherited component or if you wish to monkey patch files such as the
FlexSprite.
