We (or at least I) have been adding flags when there is "controversy" about
correct behavior. I'm not fully up to speed on this particular issue so maybe
you can make it always work like 4.11 and still provide the desired behavior
from the change that broke the 4.11 behavior. Also, sometimes folks are
counting on old "buggy" behavior and we have to weigh the cost of correctness.
Anyway, looks like Mike is staying on top of this, so if he's not concerned
about breaking things then you're probably ok. I just wanted to point out that
you do have the option of adding a flag if it helps.
