When working on upgrading our application from Flex 3.3 to Flex 4.12.1, I
noticed that in Flex 4.12.1 (4.11.0 too), binding to xml.@someattribute works,
but binding to this.xml.@someattribute doesn't. Both works in Flex 3.3.
In Flex 4.12.1, if binding to xml.@someattribute first, then binding to
this.xml.@someattribute works.
