Ok, with some help of Aljoscha (thanks!) It seems to work now.
Subclassed the RemoteEnvironment and gave it the jar aggregated from the
compiled shell commands in the virtual folder.
Its in the repository. I'm sure it can be organized better (circular
dependencies in maven), but I wanted to get it to work.
