Ha! I have in fact used this pattern myself in the Beam code. The trick is to
make it an anonymous inner subclass, i.e.
{code}
patternStream = new
SingleOutputStreamOperator(keyedStream.getExecutionEnvironment(), transform) {};
{code}
Also, the {{CoCepPatternOperator}} must never use keyed state in
{{processElement2()}} because there will never be a key. What did you mean by
your comment about that?
