You are exiting the *application* with status `FAILED` and not the
container. The container is finishing as expected.
The code (naming etc.) make it sound like you are failing the container (I
don't know if that is possible). Other than that I think this is a good change.
A user found this confusing, because the job failed, but the YARN logs and
UI show succeeded applications.
