What I meant was something like:

protected static GeoFunctions.Geom bind(...) {

}
public class FlinksGeoType implements
org.apache.calcite.runtime.GeoFunctions.Geom {
}

I thought this is the reason why the {{bind()}} method exists and is protected
and not private. The problem is, however, that Calcite added a private
constructor that makes the protected bind method unusable. What do you think
[~xccui]?
