Working on updates to address the feedback... Regarding the
NullPointerException, I'm going to protect against that in the code, but I'm
still trying to think of why you ran into that.
Did you set nifi.remote.input.socket.port in nifi.properties?
I was able to produce that NPE when I did not set this property.
Could you also see if any errors are showing up in
NIFI_HOME/logs/nifi-app.log at the same time?
