[~SleePy] I think we should split this Jira ticket, since we need to mark this
as done (in order to publish the release notes), but at the same time:

is not yet done - master hooks are still synchronous. Unless I'm missing
something, could you open a new ticket for triggering the master hooks
asynchronously and rename this one as something like "preparation"?
