The lastEnv is set for blocking also, because it still makes sense. It just
stores what the last environment created by the factory was.
I worked on this a while back while fixing a bug(?) in `TestEnvironment`
which was meant to allow accessing last created environments.

Whether it is accessed or not is an entirely different matter IMO.
