   ## What is the purpose of the change
   
   The ResettableIterator has a data overflow problem if the number of elements 
in a single input exceeds Integer.MAX_VALUE. This pull request intend to fix 
this problem.

   This change is a trivial rework / code cleanup without any test coverage.
