Jiayi Liao commented on FLINK-16001:
------------------------------------
[~gjy]
> Isn't the bulk of the computation done in computePipelinedRegions?
Yes, you're right.
> If we optimize toPipelinedRegionsSet how much time are we really saving?
Maybe not much, but I just want to tell that the job submission is performance
sensitive here, which makes us should avoid using {{Java Streams}} according to
our java code guides.
> Avoid using Java Streams in construction of ExecutionGraph

> Project: Flink

> Components: Runtime / Coordination
> Affects Versions: 1.10.0
> Reporter: Jiayi Liao
> Priority: Major
>
> I think we should avoid {{Java Streams}} in construction of
> {{ExecutionGraph}} like function {{toPipelinedRegionsSet}} in
> {{PipelinedRegionComputeUtil}} because the job submission is definitely
> performance sensitive, especially when {{distinctRegions}} has a large
> cardinality.
> Also includes some other places in package
> {{org.apache.flink.runtime.executiongraph}}
