rkhachatryan opened a new pull request #11802: [FLINK-17197][runtime] switch ContinuousFileReaderOperator state to FAILED on error URL: https://github.com/apache/flink/pull/11802 ## What is the purpose of the change Currently, `ContinuousFileReaderOperator` switches state to `CLOSED` on processing error. But such a transition is illegal and leads to an exception. This exception hides the original one. This PR introduces a new state `FAILED` for this situation, so that: 1. no processing can be done 1. it still can be disposed ## Verifying this change Added `ContinuousFileReaderOperatorTest`. ## Does this pull request potentially affect one of the following parts: - Dependencies (does it add or upgrade a dependency): no - The public API, i.e., is any changed class annotated with `@Public(Evolving)`: no - The serializers: no - The runtime per-record code paths (performance sensitive): no - Anything that affects deployment or recovery: JobManager (and its components), Checkpointing, Kubernetes/Yarn/Mesos, ZooKeeper: no - The S3 file system connector: no ## Documentation - Does this pull request introduce a new feature? no - If yes, how is the feature documented? not applicable
