Thanks a lot for the suggestions, @rmetzger — I'll incorporate your feedback! It's been quite a challenge to write the announcements from 1.9 because there are just _a lot_ of features, and it's not always easy to relate them. Having a clearer summary in the beginning is a very good idea. 💡 My concern is that the introduction then makes the blogpost even heavier. I'll try to work your points into the introduction in a way that makes it more informative, but not much heavier. People should be able to sort out the relevant features from the TOC, since all minor changes are just listed under "Other Improvements".
